We had lots of fun this afternoon playing party games and of course eating lots of party food!
We hope you all have a lovely summer and come back refreshed to start Year One. 😊
Class 1 had lots of fun last Thursday with Roslyn from Star Foundation. We got into four groups and took it in turn to play a rhythm on the drums, clap to the rhythm, whisper a song and sing as a princess 😊.
Classs One have been reading the book The Pirates Next Door by Jonny Duddle. The children made their own pirates by using clothes pegs and various materials. They then created a home for them using the polydrons.
Over the last few weeks Class 1 have been nurturing ladybirds. The children have observed the different stages within the
ladybirds life cycle, resulting in the ladybirds being released into our garden on Monday.
Today we have been learning how to double numbers. We used ladybirds and counters to find out our answers,
for example double 3 is written, 3+3=6.
What fun we have had this morning making our Easter cakes! We discussed how we could melt the chocolate to cover the Rice Krispies and how the eggs on top represented new life.
Wow! What a fun afternoon we’ve had exploring with jumping clay. We used our fine motor skills to pinch and stretch it. We made two different flowers, some soil and some pebbles to go on top. 😀
What a super day we had at the farm! We saw lots of different animals including 3 Billy Goats Gruff 😀
This week we have been continuing our topic of Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. The children have used various materials to recreate the boat from the story.
